Camera Control
With the hybrid side button, you access the camera with a single press and manually adjust settings by swiping on it. Press and hold the button to start recording a video.
You can set the Camera Control to open other apps or change the press type to suit your usage.
Our opinion? We found the button a little difficult to manipulate and it needs time to get used to. As a real estate agent, Camera Control is nice to have but not essential. While convenient for capturing spontaneous moments, professional real estate photos benefit from preparation and tailored apps.

The most awaited one is Apple Intelligence, arriving in the fall of 2024. This set of AI-powered tools includes “Clean Up,” which automatically removes unwanted elements from photos. Other updates are expected later this year, like a two-stage press on the Camera Control (half-press to focus, full-press to capture).
Photographic Styles with a pad control
The Camera Control lets you manually adjust all settings during live preview (and reverse them later). It includes exposure, depth, zoom, camera angle, tones and Photographic Styles.
Apple tries to make the images as bright as possible by automatically balancing shadows and highlights. This high processing results in pictures that look flat and grey. With the iPhone 16 Pro, the new pad control gives you more control over shadows and saturation.
Ensuring your photos are bright and realistic is key for real estate agents. Manual adjustments can help, but automated editing will deliver more consistent, professional results for property shots.
The downside is that Photographic Styles only work with images shot with iPhones. You won’t be able to use the feature on imported pictures. It also seems like the Photographic Styles feature takes a toll on your battery and heats the smartphone.

Nodalview Smart Fusion Technology
Nodalview Smart Fusion has been developed with real estate imagery in mind. With one click, our technology measures the lighting conditions, captures differently exposed images and merges them automatically.
Improved zoom, close-ups and low-light capabilities
- The iPhone 16 Pro is equipped with an optical zoom 5x telephoto. It enables impressive zooming without losing the quality of the image.
- You can also take detailed close-ups (macro photography) thanks to the 48-megapixel lens - like on the picture to the left side. Close-ups can be useful to highlight an elaborated design element.
- The 48MP Ultra Wide camera keeps a high level of detail at wide angles. The camera also makes a difference in low-light conditions: it captures more light and reduces noise.

Video improvements
We talked a lot about photography, but what about videos?
The main upgrade is the possibility to record smooth and detailed slow-motion videos. This 120 fps (frame per second) frame rate is ideal for fast-moving elements like fire flames. Steady videos are crucial to showcasing your properties, but your regular camera is enough to make impactful real estate videos.
You can also pause the video while transitioning to the next view - editing one video as you go. It can save time in post-editing but gives you less flexibility to rearrange videos later.

Comparison with previous phones
iPhone 16 Pro or non-Pro: how to choose?
Except for niche improvements, the two phones remain similar regarding their cameras.
- Similarities: Increased performance and battery life thanks to the new A18 chip.
- Differences: The iPhone 16 combines two cameras instead of three (no telephoto, meaning no optical zoom) and performs worse in low-light conditions. Video-wise, there’s no pause button while recording and the frame rate is 60fps for slow-motion videos.
If you have an iPhone 16 and are considering upgrading to a Pro, the main questions are: do you need more than the current features? Is zooming important to you?
What's more than the iPhone 15 Pro?
Both iPhone 16 Pro and 15 Pro are equipped with Camera Control and have similar battery performance. The iPhone 15 Pro’s optical zoom is limited to x3 instead of x5, which is the main difference. As you can see, the iPhone 15 Pro is relatively close to the iPhone 16 Pro. The changes aren’t game-changing, especially for real estate photography.
The iPhone 16 Pro might be more interesting in the future with the launch of Apple Intelligence. Note that Apple Intelligence will ultimately be available on all three iPhones. We currently don’t see any reason to upgrade.
Is the iPhone 16 Pro enough for your real estate photos?
It is entirely possible to capture beautiful visuals with a regular smartphone.
Even with a high-tech camera, you'll need to master techniques like finding the right angle, lighting, home staging, etc.
Editing is crucial to ensure quality. However, it can be time-consuming, especially without the help of a professional photographer. You can easily optimise your shots for real estate usage with an automated edition tool like Nodalview.
Our team has developed an all-in-one software to help you create stunning visuals, attract buyers online and become a preferred agent. Our tool is designed for any camera, whether you're using a phone or a desktop (no more fiddling on your phone).
